Youth Volleyball League, officially established in 2003, is a non-profit
organization devoted to development of youth volleyball by teaching basic
skills and techniques, by offering a competitive environment, by strengthening
teamwork, and by encouraging good sportsmanship. Prior to 2003, the volleyball
program was part of both C.Y.O. and W.C.S.L. (Westchester Catholis School
League) since 1989. In 2003, the volleyball program split for the general
league and became it own specialized league. The league is made up of Catholic
schools located in New York (The Bronx and Westchester) and has 2 levels if
play (Junior Varsity for grades 3rd through 6th and Varsity for grades 6th
through 8th). For any questions about the league or for information on how a

The school currently
participating in the league are as follows:
YVL is presided over and run by Allison Doherty and has a Board of
Directors, whose purpose is to resolve issues that arise during the season. The
Board consists of three members (Allison Doherty, Patty Husband and Jose Ojito)
and one alternate (Alison Makarczuk). For any issues or problems, please feel

The Board members are
as follows:
Allison Doherty In 1992, Allison started up a volleyball program in St. Clare's and has been coaching ever since. Allison particpated in the volleyball program when it was part of the other leagues. In 2003, Allison established the Youth Volleyball League and became its founding president. In 2004, Allison created the Board and has been a member ever since. Patty Husband In 1998, Patty began coaching Transfiguration when her three daughters were in the school. Patty has since passed the coaching torch of Transifugration to her daughters, while she still actively participates in Trnasfiguration volleyball program. In 2004, Patty was elected to the Board at its inception and has been a member ever since. Jose Ojito In 2007, Jose started coaching St. Augustine's. That same same year, Jose was voted onto the Board and is now the newest Board member. Jose no longer coaches St. Augustine's, but he has agreed to stay on the Board and continue helping the league. Alison Makarczuk In 2001, Alison began coaching St. Patrick's school. In 2004, Alison was voted onto the Board as the alternate member and serves as a neutral party if any issue involves one of the other Board members
